Tax Time Tip #4

Posted by team97 on April 21, 2007

Final Tip for Tax Time

Tip #4

If you follow this procedure and do your credit card statment match with receipts on a monthly basis, then you won’t be so frazzled at tax time next year because all your receipts will together.

During the month, just place the receipts in a envelope labled with the specific credit card number so you know those receipts go with that credit card statement.

We hope these tips have been helpful for tax time.

Tax Time Tip #2

Posted by team97 on April 19, 2007

Here is another tip - Matching and Staple Receipts

Tip #2

It is best to take one credit card statment at a time, go through it and match up all receipts to the statement.

Staple the receipts to the statement.

Contine this same process with each monthly statement and then place all the monthly credit card statements for each credit card in a large manilla or yellow “bank” envelope.

Label the envelope - CC #<cc number> and then <your company name and year>.

When your accountant gets your credit card statments, they are in a neat manner which mean he will be done with your taxes faster.

Tax Time Tips for the Floor Cleaning Professional Business Owner

Posted by team97 on April 18, 2007

Here is just a few tax time tips that we have learned for the floor cleaning small business owner (actually, these tips can work for any small business):

Tip #1

Place your receipts with the appropriate type of statement (ie: credit card, debit, cash)that you made the purchase.

* Be sure to place the purchase receipts that you made with your credit cards, with the credit card statement and not the type of receipt it was.  For example, don’t just place all your gas receipts together for each month, if you purchased some of your gas with cash, some with debit and then others with a credit card.

Bank Loans for your Business

Posted by team97 on April 14, 2007

Sometimes with business we may need some help with the finances, either when we first get started or sometimes when we wish to go to the next level. One way to accomplish this is task is by acquiring a bank loan.  It is important to read up on the terms and conditions from your local bank or lender to ensure you understand them thoroughly.  In our case, we had a wonderful experience with our local branch of Bank of America (www.bankofamerica.com) . The ladies there were very friendly and knowledgable about the process and explained all the details with us.

How are you answering your business phone?

Posted by team97 on April 12, 2007

Small business owners in the floor cleaning & janitorial service industry it is important for our customers to be able to talk with a live person and not the dreaded menu of options.

If you are a floor cleaning professional who is struggling with being able to complete jobs and being able to answer your customer calls, we have a solution for you. The company is called Virtual Receptionists USA (www.virtualreceptionists.biz). The service is very reasonable and your customers will be able to talk with a live person and not get a menu or a recorded voice. You also can have it set up to have the receptionist just screen the calls for you or take messages and you can retrieve them when you are available. Another great bonus, is that you can ask the receptionists to promote a special discount or marketing campaign for you as part of the service.

I will be posting more information in regards to this great service very soon…so stay tuned.

Be sure that your customers can rave about your great customer service because they talk to the company and not a string of menu options!
